Hi everyone! For 2017 I have decided on a major style and editing shift in my portrait studio. This has been a long time coming for me and I finally am getting it done! For a while now I have really admired a natural and pure style. No props, no distractions, no busy clothing, no loud colors. Just a simple and conducive overall theme to an artists work. Where any images you see would be recognized that a certain artist produced them. I was feeling all over the place with no real branding to my work. I have decided to bring Organic Portraiture into my studio. I want the finished product to really show the connection between family members. To have the images scream nothing but emotion and love between the people I am photographing. I am really embracing the styling and editing changes that come with this style of portraiture. I am looking forward to my work being recognizable, to my website screaming just one style that attracts the right clients for me. I want to really stand out in an oversaturated market of family photographers.

Durning my research and training, I have learned that it's not so much about finding the perfect outfits for your family to be photographed in, but more about avoiding the WRONG outfits. I would look at my work and not even know why an image of a beautiful family was bothering me. I feel implementing this new style will avoid this from ever happening to me or my clients. I think it will make every image more special and polished. Really showcasing the true happiness of parents welcoming a new baby into their family or capturing your little ones just being themselves playing in a field with nothing busy around them at all.

I have made some beautiful changes in my studio, giving it a real cozy, natural feel. Nothing stuffy or cheesy. I want everyone to be relaxed just like they are in their own homes. Just on the floor interacting with each other while I capture special moments between parents/children/siblings. I want it to be real and no forced uncomfortable posing. A new baby in mom or dads hands, natural snuggles and kisses or silly giggles in a comfortable environment will allow me to capture true emotions that we all want to remember from these sweet days of childhood.

I will still shoot in a few of my favorite locations but I am most excited about adding field sessions to my program. Outside sessions will take place about 2 hours before sundown when the sun is at it's sweet spot. Golden hour creates such a unique look and feel to your images. I have learned that you can't just shoot any time of the day and get the same results you are trying for, so it's important to get out there when the sun is just right.

I have also learned a new editing style to make my images super creamy and give them an extra dream like feel. A solid style change to everything that comes out of my studio.

I am also excited to offer a wardrobe selection for mammas, babies and children. (One less thing to stress out about when planning your session) I am still working on building my closet up and maybe eventually I will have some stuff in there for dads, but let's be real, they are super easy to shop for!

I will really guide my clients when it comes to styling. I am making this a top priority to be able to produce the results I think will wow and amazing my clients.
